Introduce yourself – who you are, what you do, and where you are.
I am Corina Valentina Elbayer, a Senior Security professional from Romania, currently working with Qatar Airways Group, located in Doha, State of Qatar, and part of the Security Systems team of Hamad International Airport, the best airport in the world.
I am also a certified Project Manager (PMI-PMP) and Risk Manager (PMI-RMP) with vast exposure to the project environment, from which the last 7 years in the aviation industry.
As part of my previous education, I hold a Diploma in Law and a master’s degree in Labor Law from the University of Oradea, Romania. Presently I am a student enrolled in the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program at the University of Nevada. Reno.
Being part of the aviation industry, I became passionate about aviation, and seeing how misrepresented women are in this industry – with only 6% of licensed pilots being female – I have decided that I must take a stance.
This is how this blog was born: “The Ladies of the Air”
Through this blog, I am committed to advancing women in aviation in order to broaden the civil aviation talent pool. With the current pilot shortage and 260,000 new pilots needed over the next 10 years, I strongly believe the industry must take tangible action to attract more women to aviation.
