The International Society of Women Airline Pilots (ISA+21) Mission Statement:
“We are the global voice to
Inspire, Support, and Advocate
for female airline pilots.”
The International Society of Women Airline Pilots (ISA+21) is a non-profit organization established to elevate women to achieve their “up in the sky” dreams. ISA+21 began with twenty-one revolutionary female airline pilots in 1978 and has grown to over 600 members worldwide, representing over 90 airlines and 25 countries. In May of 1978, 21 female airline pilots met in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the first convention and recorded the International Society of Women Airline Pilots.
ISA+21 started as an enterprise for community connection and collective experience for female airline pilots. However, during its four decades, ISA+21 has progressed to offer mentorship and scholarship opportunities to female pilots interested in a career in airline flying. In 1994, the society was incorporated as a tax-exempt non-profit to better support its members. Since then, it has successfully offered more than $1.4 million in scholarships to females eager to obtain advanced certificates and type ratings, supporting them to achieve their dreams of an airline career.

ISA+21 stands out as a global voice to inspire, support, and advocate for female airline pilots with the scope of growing the number of women airline pilots around the globe.
As part of its inspirational mission, ISA+21 strives to inspire the next generation of women airline pilots worldwide by seeking ways to increase the percentage of female pilots. One of the ways to proactively inspire more females to become airline pilots is by featuring role models, encouraging girls and young women to discover careers as airline pilots.
As part of its support mission, ISA+21 struggles to cultivate and nurture a supportive community in aviation, providing access to professional training through scholarships and mentoring girls and young women who aspire to fly.
As part of its advocate mission, ISA+21 conducts policy creation for female airline pilots by delivering a prime source of information about the global aviation industry. For this purpose, the organization organizes conferences to bring women alike together and endorse thus information sharing and collaboration. The engagement of mentorship for professional women activating in the aviation industry is another way to promote the advancement and accomplishments of women airline pilots.
